Ali is trying to raise money for Autism Speaks through Six Degrees and if she can be the one to get the most donations by the end of tomorrow then Six Degrees will donate an additional $10,000 to Autism Speaks. Ali has been a mega inspiration to me & so many others & i would love to donate but Six Degrees will only accept donations from people in the US. i don't know anyone in the US but if you live in the states or know someone that does, who would be able to donate on my behalf (i will send them the money via paypal) please e-mail me. Thanks.
*ETA* Six Degrees is now set up to take paypal donations so i have been able to donate. If you would like to do some good, then today is the last day to donate, just $10 can make a difference.

This was a LO i did last weekend, i am being inspired by Stacey's Library of Memories Class to scrap more about my life & the things i want to remember. Whilst you might think me insane for wanting to scrap my bath times, i think pages like these are integral to builing an album that gives the whole picture of me. i need my baths, they are the only time that i ever allow my self to fully relax. i used mostly stuff from this months Scrap Room kit but also added 5 buttons, 1 rub-on, 6 letter stickers & 2 brads. Stacey & Donna are actually visiting the UK this week & i am totally gutted that i had to pass up the oppertunity to be taught by them. i SO wanted to go to the classes they are teaching at Scrap Fever, but my bank account just wouldn't allow it :(

And whilst i'm on the subject of classes, The Design Collective starts going out on Tuesday, so you still have time to sign up. And Shimelles new class starts on Monday & you guessed it, i've signed up for both, not that i have the time, but i am a sucker for online classes.

One of my favouritest blogs Pencil Lines has designed some blinkies. Pop over & have a look. i can't decide which one to use, let me know what you think & help me decide.

Thanks to Anam for translating Ellee's comment for me.

Somthing i made last night at the crop. It's a scraplift from a LO done by Sarah Klemish on pg 98 of Feb/March issue of Scrapbook etc. Love that mag so much i could eat it, well maybe just lick it, i still want to be able to look at all the prettyness inside.
Used a bonus kit i bought from Scrap-Room eons ago & added some American Crafts stickers for the title which i got in this months Scrap-Room kit. Desperatly trying to use some of my kits at the moment, but i'm not very good at using just what comes in the kit. i like to faff about and mix up my products so it takes me ages to use em up. But they are rather handy when preparing for a crop.
i love to shop with these two i do. We know each others tastes & we all love lush. i took these pics in Bournemouth last month & i could tell they were embarassed by me snapping away in the middle of the high street. But was i bovvered? Certainly not. Some sacrifices have to be made for art m'dears. Besides, if anyone had approached me i would have pretended to be a tourist. You can get away with a lot by pretending to be foreign you know.
i am much liking the lighter evenings, but loosing that hour at the weekend completly threw me. i've struggled to get to sleep before 1am since the clocks changed. Although to be fair, i don't usually sleep till 12 anyway, too much stuff going on in my head. But loosing that hour has definately knackered me out.
Today i bought some Choco Leibniz at lunch time, the dark chocolate variety. They are my favourite biscuits EVER. And i left them in the car. So they melted. This is a good thing, a sure sign that summer is on the way.
A lady has left a comment on my previous post, if anyone can translate, i would grately appreciate it!

Who needs Hambly when you've got the cellophane from your friends beautiful bunch of flowers? ME! i do! i'm lusting after it!

Anna got sent a mega beautiful bouquet from her husband, it got delivered to her at work on Friday. We were all jealous. What did he do wrong? i hear you cry. Nothing! He just sent them cos he lubs her {and according to Anna, because she is good in the you know what department} ;)

Anyway, as soon as i laid eyes on them i saw the gorgeous cellophane they were wrapped in and knew i could make beautiful things with it. So i asked her if i could have it when she was done. Thanks Anna. x. When i saw this weeks Pencil Lines Sketch i knew it would be perfect. And the pattern even resembles the one on the dress i'm wearing on this photo (squint and you can just about see it). Some pages are just meant to be. Can you believe i actually did a sketch on time!?!

*ETA* the journalling & rub-ons are on a transparency which have been stapled over card for better visibility.

Went to a crop tonight, will post more pages tomorrow. If you are local (to me) and are interested in coming along, we meet on the third Monday of every month and on a Saturday every other month. For more info see Cropping with Friends Blog.

Nighty night!

Just a quick one. Even though she didn't sign her name in the comment, my sister did guess right, the LO was about her (as if it would be about anyone else!). Also did this one of Katies achievment at the Great South Run last year. She ran for CHECT. It's Pencil Lines sketch number 21 (i'm a bit behind). Can't seem to scrap with outgetting some green in somewhere these days.

Been making stuff today, including this. Can you guess who it is about? Hint: it's someone who reads this blog.
If you guess right i'll show the whole page.

Not much going on in my world at the moment, but in the scrapbooking world it's HOF time!! For all my non-scrapbooking friends (which is most of you) let me explain. i am not talking about The Hoff as you might expect, but Hall of Fame or HOF as we scrappers like to call it is a very prestigious competition held by Creating Keepsakes (Big American magazine). Basically, if you win it's pretty HUGE and makes you fairly famous in the scrapping world and can often lead to big things like design work, teaching, book deals and more. A couple of my fav winners are Mitchell Kraft and Kristina Contes. i've been following Mitchell for a while through the mad world of blogging, i know that CK will probably have big plans for him, but i hope he sticks college out until he graduates. i LOVE Kristinas work so much i'm so chuffed she's won and i'm hoping to see a lot more of her work in print as a result of her HOF win, infact can't wait to see more work by all of the HOFer's. You can see a list of the winners here. And incase you're wondering, no i didn't enter, because let's be honest, i wouldn't stand a chance.

Tonight i will be watching this whilst reading this. Also last episode of skins tonight. boo hoo.

i went to a well known supermarket chain this evening to try and get my mitts on a copy of Casino Royale for a mere £7 (yes really - £7!) but they were sold out. How VERY dare they!?! So i bought Arcade Fire's album instead and the latest copy of NME which had a free DVD featuring some of the NME awards action. Well, you didn't expect me to go into a shop and not spend any money did you?

Very much liking Maximo Park right now.

Katie showed me her laptop desktop today and it was a picture of a layout i'd done on her. How freaking cool is that! *Lubs* that she supports my crazy creative ways.

i drove in snow tonight, never seen so much of it falling from the sky, huge big flakes too.

i've got hugs for you if you were born in the 80's.

{and hugs for everyone else too!}. x

As you can see, i got lots of scrapping done yesterday, i went to an all day crop in Bournemouth. Totally loved it, especially when someone complimented me on my handwriting which i found highly amusing because i think it's such a mess. 'Confused' Lo at the top is sketch 22 from Pencil Lines.
i was supposed to be heading out into Bournemouth for a night out in celebration of Jo's 21st. It was my whole purpose for being in Bournemouth for the weekend, but the girls were getting a mini bus down and it never showed up! So i stayed in with Michaela & Tom. Which was fine bec i quite like them anyway. tee hee.
Thought RND on Friday was hilarious!! Not a huge fan of TV but it was good viewing and for such a good cause. The Tony Blair/Catherine Tate sketch had me in stitches.
Very much liking Air Traffic at the moment. And they are playing at Bournemouth next weekend, but i won't be there. Typical!

Life is Good {i need reminding every so often}

i was dancing around the living room to Kasabian this afternoon, the sun was shining and i felt excited about life. So i made this. Because it's the first time i've felt like that in ages. So i wanted to record it.

And that's why i need to scrapbook.

Someone laughed at me last week when i said that scrapbooking was my therapy. But it is, it SO is. And i don't care if no-one else understands that.

Beaker says hey!

i've got today off work (yipee & hooray!). i had a few appointments this morning, planning, organising, arranging, trying to make a better life for myself.

i'm teaching scrapbooking at a woman's group tonight, haven't taught in nearly a year and i still need to prepare for the class. oops!

Sunday Love

Sundays are my favourite day of the week. Because i do exactly what i want, it's my me time. {Although sometimes i'm recovering from a hangover, so not much gets done at all!} When i'm home, my sundays usually consist of having a lie-in, scrapping, watching films, not getting out of my pyjamas except to have a bath and get into a new pair. i have particular films which i watch on Sundays, usually ones that are serious & need my full attention or that are too long for me to watch during the week. New Secrets go up on PostSecrets, and a new week is beginning.

Above mini album is for a work friend who is leaving tomorrow and who i'm going to miss SO much. i'm not a fan of mini albums & i don't really like to make stuff for other people, i find it too hard, but it's got to be done sometimes & it is kind of cool to see peoples reactions when you give them as gifts. The LO on the right there (only want to show a snipit of it, sorry) is based on the lyrics of James Morrisons 'Undiscovered' song, pretty much sums up how i'm feeling lately. i find lots of inspiration in music, other people are so much better are describing how i'm feeling then i am. i also managed to get all my photos sorted into categories today (at long last!).

If you haven't seen my 100th post please go read it and post a comment to say hi! On Wednesday i'll get someone impartial to randomly draw a comment that has been posted since my 100th post to win a chocolate related prize, so you have till about 8 pm then to comment!

Spring is here!

i ventured out today for the first time in a long time without a coat! It's nice to have a bit of sunshine around here for a change, loving all the light that is shining into the house. There are daffs popping up everywhere including our garden. Can't wait to get some flip-flops on. Me & Jen went out for lunch today in this strange little cafe which was so mega retro it actually gave the prices on the menu in pence! So i bought a chocolate milkshake for 160p today. It's still makes me smile when i think about it. i also bought some sparkily shoes for a mere £6, modelled here by moi. i also bought a box to store my photos in, so i will be sorting later. i am in the mood to scrap for me, but i have other projects to do.
i went to see my friend Chris' band ZUMA play the other day, they are soooooooo good, please check them out! Chris is the lead singer & he plays guitar too. It was so cool to him in his element doing something he loves. Whilst there i had an indepth

debate with a friend of a friend about marriage & kids, it's got me thinking a lot... i wish i could stop my itchy feet & decide what i wanted from life. i love to meet new people but they always ask me about what i do for a living (after they have firstly presumed i am student ~ not sure what that's all about!). i don't really like to talk about it bec i don't enjoy what i do, but i'm not sure what i do want to do.
The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on "donating a mammogram" for free (pink window in the middle). This doesn't cost you anything. Their corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising. Here's the web site! Go people go!

Today i ordered 104 photos and i can't wait till they arrive.

Today i attempted to tidy but it made me tired and bored so i gave up.

Today i made this when i was supposed to be doing other things.

The Party was PINK

The dress code for the 21st Birthday party last night was formal black & white with a pink accessory and everyone turned out good. She loves pink so here was a bit of a pink theme to the party. Other than celebrating her 21st birthday my sister also wanted to raise a bit of cash for Breast Cancer Research so asked everyone to donate a pound. She ended up raising £122!! So thankful to everyone who donated.
Lovely to have friends & family all in one room.
Still can't believe i have a sister that is 21 years old!!

Saturday, March 03, 2007

i love you so much
i am so proud of you
i am so thankful to have you as a sister & a friend
Happy 21st Birthday. x

You will be pleased to know that my shoe dilema is over! i went to tesco this lunchtime & whilst i was there i thought i'd check out the shoes, 'just incase'. Well not only did i find a pair that were just what i was looking for but they also fit. AND they were reduced from £20 to £15. BUT (and this is the best bit) when i got to the checkout & they were put through they only came up as £5!!! So naturally i paid for them and ran. LOVE it when stuff like that happens. i reckon it's karma getting back at them for all the bad petrol they allegedly sold people.

Managed to get two LO's done last night. The shade of green featured on this layout is my favourite colour at the moment. i really like the LO, it's one of those ones that just came together and everything just works (in my opinion).
i have been sorting & reorganising my supplies & rediscovering stuff, i have some new storage baskets and they make me happy. i find it so inspiring going through my stash. Anywho, this weekend is going to be a BIG one. So much fun planned for tomorrow. Gotta get some sleeps.
