Turkey

i'm back and life is still busy busy busy! Anyways, Turkey was ab fab, a bit too chilled for my liking, there wasn't too much to do and i can only stand so much sitting round the pool, i was so relaxed i kept falling asleep! So not the point of going abroad! i like to do stuff and see things, i did get to do a little bit of exploring and speak to some of the locals, but not as much as i would have liked. Relaxing is just not for me, i need to be busy! It was unbearably hot, 40 degrees on Saturday. i am very aware of skin damage so had the factor 30 on and sat in the shade the whole week, i have got some colour though and my freckles are out in force! The hotel was gorgeous, very traditional and the room was huge! The landscape in Turkey is very similar to Greece, i was stuck by the many similarities between the countries and it was making me want to live back there. Miss it, miss it, miss it. i didn't take my mobile, avoided the internet and all forms of media for the entire week, after a few days i was missing it, i also missed my music soooo much and have been longing for my Black Holes and Revalations Album. Got back into reading, i only ever have the time to read a chapter here and there usually, need to make a concious effort to get more done in the future. Went on a few trips including the ruins at Knidos and bartering at Datca market, met a few new people and there were also a few that i'd done my season with too, so it was great to catch up with them. Got to watch some films on the flight (i missed my films) and i've decided that clouds don't exist, it's just big balls of cotton wool up there in the sky!

We had a big family dinner yesterday, it's my Nan's 75th Birthday today! And then went to see Fantastic 4 with Nic. Been busy all day and not unpacked yet...
More Pictures to come tomorrow.

End of an era

So today was my last day in my office job. The job which has been making me rather miserable for the last few months. Anyways, i didn't do any work all day and i got lots of lovely presents and my desk was decorated and i felt all special like it was my birthday or somfink. i have got to work with some really lovely ladies over the last year and made some really great friendships, we have had many laughs despite the rubbishness of our working environment and i am going to miss them SO much. Especially my Annabannana who is my gym buddy, gossip sharer, talk about everything to person and e-mail each other about meaningless stuff when we're bored friend, and Cassie cos she has the sweetest heart and an infectious zest for life. But i won't just miss these two, there are so many others, too many to mention, but you know who you are. x

Tomorrow i am off to Turkey for a whole weeks holiday!! i haven't had one of these for years and years so i'm super excited. Hope you don't miss my blogging too much!!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i got to meet THE PYKE, as in Josh frickin Pyke!!!! i am so chuffedero!!! His gig was awesome and because The Joiners is quite small it was really intimate & i stood right up the front and managed to get a few shots. Then i spoke to him afterwards, i wanted to snog the pants off him but did not feel it appropriate, so i just asked him how the tour had gone and stuff. They were also giving out free posters and i managed to nab the last one! Check out Beakers blog as he got to meet Josh too :) Also My mum's friend Gilly's daughter was playing in the support act Alpha Betts, check em out cos they are really good. What better way to end the evening than with cheesy chips. Oh yeah!

More Festival Stuff

Annoyingly i am still unable to get my festival pictures processed, because the other supermarket locally to me which has photo processing facilities has run out of photopaper!!! i'm never not taking my canon baby with me anywhere again. Seriously regretting not taking it now. Disposable cameras suck! In the meantime, here's one Nic took during Keane's set (LOVE them!) you can just about see Tom in the screen to my left and one i 'borrowed' from NME where no photo credit was given:
i forgot to mention in my last post how good Paolo Nutini was, his live performance is very different to his recordings (and better), and how rock n' roll Wolfmother are, how much i enjoyed Groove Armada's set, how i randomly bumped into everyone i knew who was going to the festival, how there was a common theme of men dressed as women, how the weekend was fuelled by nachos, vodka & orange, and sudafed and how i am now becoming increasingly obsessive about Muse. i will probably go on about this weekend for the rest of my life.

Isle of Wight Festival

i only took a disposable camera with me to The Festival, opting to leave my canon baby at home. However, our local supermarket's processing department is shut down, so i can't get my hand's on any of my own prints at the mo. Therefore, i am waiting for Nic to send me some of her's, so i apologise for the lack of photo's. i have been itching to post though so here's the highlight's of the weekend, (which are generally just singing along to some of my favourite music):

*The whole crowd singing 'Nah, nah, nah, na, na, na, na, na, na, na' to Kasabian's L.S.F. If you know the song you know what i'm on about.

*The whole crowd singing along to Snow Patrol's Chasing Cars (and pretty much the whole set to be honest, best atmosphere of the weekend)

*Watching the Red Arrows display

*The whole crowd clapping along to Muse's Starlight (these guys were AMAZING)

*Getting almost hysterical when Tom of Keane (or Tom Keane as us girls now like to call him) walked down what i like to call 'The Catwalk'.

If you missed the highlight's on Ch4 this weekend then check out some of the vid's on YouTube.

It was such a good weekend!!

BFF

Had to say ta ra to my Katty B tonight as she is embarking on a new adventure. We're not likely to live in the same town ever again (or anywhere remotely near each other for that matter) but we'll still see each other, she ain't getting rid of me that easily! Just a few of the reasons why i love this girl:

* She makes me text her to let her know i've got home ok

* When i'm ill she gives me drugs to make me better (shes a pharmacologist)

* When she gets in my car she says it's like being home

* She get my sense of humour & sillyness

* We can talk about anything

* She doesn't mind me taking pictures of her

* She encourages my creativity

* She sends me random text messages

* She introduced me to Facebook

* She checks my blog regularly, sometimes several times a day, just to see if it's been updated, even if she's been spending time with me and knows it hasn't been.
Love u long time girl. x

i'm off to the festival in 7 hours time so will not post again till next week. Whilst i'm gone here's some new music to check out:

One little word

Mrs E asked her blog readers back in January to come up with a word that sums up what we wanted for ourselves in 2007. i will talk more about the word that i chose another day but in the meantime, i wanted to share this. It's for the One Little Word Challenge this week, you should have been able to guess from the title that it's a blog which sets challenges based on one word. i haven't had the vibe for scrapping recently or the time, but this week i got some Photobox love and this challenge made me want to scrap (still strapped for time though, hence the lack of product used on the LO). Journalling reads: Stop beating yourself up about your appearance (having some serious body image issues at the mo).
Had a crazy week this week, working, going out with the crew from work, getting my hair cut, practicing erecting tents in preparation for the festival (the funniest half hour of the week), watching Pirates (disappointed with the film, way confusing, but Orlando was so Hot) taking walks round the castle (i lost my lens cap there, very annoyed), Brad went home Thursday, i can't even remember what i did on Tuesday and next week looks set to be even busier.

i have an ouchy bruise on the inside of my right arm above my elbow. i had no need to tell you that, but did anyway.

High Five to all the girls that did the Race for Life today. Sorry i couldn't be there to cheer you on, but yay for you!
