25

Yes people this is the last you will ever see of me as a 25 year old woman. Tomorrow is the big 2-6. i am really excited! After spending my last birthday on the other side of the world, i am super happy to be spending my big day with friends and family. Last night i went out for dinner with Gareth, Bridget & Vicki and got a total shock when i turned up at the restaurant and they had decorated the table with personalised placemats, sprinkles & a balloon. i was so spoilt!

This last year has been totally crazy & i feel like i have achieved so much! It is mad to think where i was on my last birthday, where i am now and all that has happened in between. Bring on 26!!

Oh My!

i had an Oh My! moment today. i was sooooo embarassed & so completely filled with joy at the same time. :) ha ha!

Anyway moving on....

i've been taking the Elsie*Cake class these last few weeks & love, love, love it! Here's a little journal i painted which inspired by the class. i'm undecided yet if i will share the pages from inside.

Last week was much of a muchness. i am somewhat obsessed with Heroes & Gossip Girl at the moment & painting my nails while i watch them. i had happy mail in the form of Red Velvet Kit and a cuuuuute hat from Silji! She rocks the knitting. If there is one craft that i will never master it is knitting. My nan tried to teach me as a kid & gave up, it is never going to happen! i get in such a pickle.

Friday i got my hair coloured & cut. i also had it straightened for the first time in a long time. i like to mix it up & look completely different every once in a while even if it does totally freak my friends & family out!

Saturday Anna & i just hung out watching dvd's alllllll day & had a little excursion to The Range. It was so nice to have no plans! i journalled & did some embroidery & not much else.

Sunday i took Shimelle's Everyone has a Story Class. i have been so excited for this (and to meet Shimelle)! i really loved gathering all the photos that we had to get for our 'homework' and i actually answered a lot of the questions we had too. i've got a little book just for this project (my other journals can get a bit random & jumbly so i thought it might be a good idea for this project to have it's own place). It's pretty crazy the number of memories that you can summon if you sit and think about it.

i managed to get 12 pages completed on the day & thanks to all the photo planning & journalling i have tons more ideas. OMG the stash we had was soooooo yummy! i have everything in a box together, so there really is no excuse for not getting on with this album!!

Someone at the class told me that i had really nice 'scrapbooking' handwriting. i thought this was kind of funny, because this is just how i write! i did not design my handwriting to look pretty for my pages, to me it looks a bit of a mess!

Yesterday i had the day off work, it was so nice! i've was working on a few handmade gifts for xmas presents & met sweet Cassie & Annananna for drinks at lunch (hot chocolate, yum!). It's nice when i can work on the dining table & watch crazy film's while i scrap. Yesterday i was watching Help!. i love The Beatles so! i have actually been scrapbooking quite a lot lately, so i will try and share some more this week! It's a bit tricky taking pictures without decent light though.

Have a good one!

Saturdays are the most fun

i always, always do something with friends on a Saturday, so they are the bestest. They make me happy. Yesterday was no exception. Usually Saturday's include a comnination of the following: shopping, cinema, dvd night, eating out, clubbing. Or on the odd occasion i actually stay in and scrap some. Oh and another few words on yesterday.

Yeah i did!

One year ago today....

i set out on my biggest adventure yet. It was one of the most amazing eperiences i've ever had, or probably ever will. It already seems like such a long time ago. i still can't believe that i've been to so many amazing places. i miss the spontinaity of the life, meeting new people and having new experiences every day, oh the adventures i had! i especially miss the warmth and the sunshine. i miss my freckles. i miss living in t-shirts and flip-flops and wearing my bone-knecklace 24/7. i had to take my anklet from Phuket off last week because i wear tights and boots almost daily now! :(

i have a tattoo on my arm which is a daily reminder to me that if i can dream it, i can achive it! i dreamt of doing this trip for years and years and it took me a long time to save the money, to plan everything out and for the timing to be right for me to go. If you have dreams, big or small. Do not give up! Even when the going is tough, find the strength to keep believing! It will be so worth it.

People often ask me if i will ever undertake a trip like this again. i think the people who are closet to me are convinced that i will. They know my free spirited ways & the adventurous needs that burn in me. There are of course so many places i still need to see. i still have big dreams of going places. But truth be told, i am quite happy living a settled life for a while. i am most me when surrounded by the people i love. i cannot see myself giving up my fabulous life for a good while. But i'd never say never. i think it will all come down to circumstance. At the moment i a very focused on sorting my finances and getting my own space, something i have had to sacrifice in order to 'live the dream'. But for now, i don't feel like i need to run away.

Here's a few of my favourite pictures from the trip. Take pictures, always take pictures! Looking back on them will make you smile and make your heart happy!

Tuesdays suck the most.

Soooooo Noah & the Whale were the shizz. Even Benji agreed and he is normally very critical of bands when we see them live, we are gig buddies so i know. Mostly he was just jealous of their guitar skills i think. They did a really good mix of their current stuff, new exclusives and covers.

Very excited for America & the world. Let's hope change really is coming. i want to believe that it is.

The fireworks rocked. i was most impressed with the never before seen shooting star ones. It actually looked like fairy dust in the sky. Matt almost bailed. i told him he sucked. Then he moaned at me for talking through the firework display. Mwah ha! This is our way.

Bridget made us the most yummy curry evvvvver! She & her hubs used to own a restaurant in London and they are the most amazing cooks. Her home is filled with stuff she made. She upholstered their arm chairs, made a dresser unit and they even built the extension together! She is so inspiring!

Hit the shops on a Saturday for the last time before xmas. i'm almost done with the shopping, and am going to get the rest on-line because there's no way i'm facing the crowds again.

Hot Rod. Round three. Still makes me cry with laughter.

Saw W

i'm working on an Art Journal for the first time ever after siging up for Ashley Wren's Evidence class. i am loving it. Here's a page from last night. It wasn't inspired by the class. But me having an Art journal at all is a result of doing the class.

Insomia often kicks in when i have a lot on my mind. So i am found making stuff. i'm rocking the canvases at the moment. Me + tired = grumpy. Not a happy bunny today. Tuesdays suck the most anyway (it's the craziest day at work). The absence of TC has sent me into a misery. Plus crazy hormones don't help the situation.

Hmmm ok i think that's all i want to share for now.

May your week be filled with happiness.

Cool Beans

Mine and Anna's favourite film at the moment. We've only watched it twice so far but i know it's going to be one of those films we quote at each other constantly. We love these crazy comedies SO much.

Yesterday we took a walk around the castle and randomly came accross a family walking their pet Racoon. Probably highly illegal, but i can't be sure. This is one of the craziest most random and fabulous thing to have ever occured. It had a cream and pink wooly jumper on and everything. For reals.

Halloween was the best ever. And Benji dressed up as a penguin. People kept coming up to him and saying 'you're a penguin'. He was oh so very tired of it by the end of the night. He hee. Good effort all round on the costumes.

i have a busy week this week. Noah & the Whale gig tonight. Wednesday is Fireworks (weather dependent). i love Bonfire night! Thursday is Curry with the Winchester Crew. Looking forward to seeing them a lot!

i am hoping i will not be doing much in the month of November as things have been a little too busy lately. i have been missing my creative time a lot. i have a few on-line classes coming up and i still haven't taken most of my current photos for this. So that is my main project for the weekend.

i am very excited for Vicki to be moving to our office tomorrow! We have been waiting for this day to come for months! i decorated her desk with home made paper chains and paper dolls. Can't wait for her to see them in the morning!

Have a good week
